How to get married in Indian temples, not the arya samaj one but simple Indian Temple marriage, Please advice!

Hi,

I am preparing to get married in Indian Temple, its not the Arya Samaj one but a simple marriage in a Hindu temple in or around Delhi.

The reason is parents off course, I am 30 years and the lady is 26 so there is no issue about age.

Please let me know the steps and other processes.

ThanksHow to get married in Indian temples, not the arya samaj one but simple Indian Temple marriage, Please advice!
i married in a temple in coimbatore, tamilnadu, india.

the following are the points to be considered.

only few temples allow the marriages to take place legally.

find out by asking the priests or from the temple office.

in these temples, they maintain a record book.

you should record the couples name with 2 witnesses each on both sides (some temples allow only 2 witness.on safer side i suggest 4).

you can exchange garlands in front of the idol and tie the knot blessed by the priest.

after the marriage, you will be given the receipt.

you can show the receipt in the registrar office of any one of your local place and get the marriage officially registered.(even otherwise the temple office periodically sends the record of marriages to these registrar office - so you need not worry)

pl note that both should be hindu and i am referring to indian hindu marriage only (in temple)

best wishes
